HomeKit enabled light swtich
You might already know Elgato. They have some serious HomeKit products which has been around for some time now. The latest product is the Eve Light Switch which transforms any single or multi-bulb smart setup into an intelligent lighting system by replacing your old plain wall switch.
Program your wall switch
The switch is programmable which means that it can do more than just turn on and off your smart bulbs e.g. Philips Hue. It can turn on any HomeKit enabled product! You can program the switch with scenes. Meaning that in the morning between 6 and 7 am. the switch turns on a dimmed light in the kitchen and the coffee machine too while turning off the lights in your bedroom. When you get home at 5 o’clock the switch turns on the lights in the living room and pull the drapes. It is all up to you and how you want the switch to react.
Of course you can still control your light by your voice via Siri but sometimes it is just a little more comfortable using a switch. Can you for example clearly say ‘Siri turn on lights in the kitchen’ at 6 o’clock in the morning? You just might want to tap that switch instead right!
Touch sensitive switch
The switch is touch sensitive which means you do not set it in an off or on position. You simply pad the switch. This means that you can still control everything from your app, or by voice as mentioned, also when you are away from home. The switch will always ‘listen’ to the last command it is giving either way. It connects with your devices through Bluetooth. So no need for dragging new wires or setting up a Wi-Fi system. You just connect directly through your iPhone or iPad and setup everything in the Eve app.
The Eve Light Switch is brand new and available at Amazon.
